Oh, those pesky journals!

Published by Mrs. McGovern at 5:36 pm under Journals and tagged:

OK, so the one page journal is not difficult to write.  It is the what to write about that presents the problem.  Let’s try to divide and conquer.

Post a great journal idea that may help those in need of inspiration.  If you abound with ideas, add more!

I love to laugh! Write about an event that made you laugh so hard that you thought your eyeballs were going to pop out.

I had an experience when I was eating dinner with my husband and a few friends. My husband was making me laugh so hard that I shot the corn I was eating through my nose. When my friends at the dinner party caught on to what was happening, they added to the hilarity. Before I knew it, I was a corn through the nose machine gun.

On a side note, shooting corn through your nose really hurts! Don’t try it!!!!

If you are having trouble thinking of an idea for one of your journal entries. Try thinking about what you have done or will do over the weekend and explain why you are going to enjoy doing it.

Have you ever been so bored that you didn’t know what to do. So, you can write about a time when you were really bored and what you did to get over it.

  7.   norman smiley1112on 13 Dec 2008 at 12:38 pm

You can write about the funniest thing that has ever happened on a holiday in you life. My cousin is as police officer and one year on new years eve, he came to my aunt Mary Anne’s house to tell everyone to be safe, and when he walked up the driveway, it was lined with firecrackers. So when he came up, my uncle Glenn lit them my cousin started running down the street because he was so surprised.

I was thinking long and hard about this one.. An idea that I have is to write about a time that you’ve had an off day. Maybe even an off week! This will keep you thinking about new ideas to keep adding on to your journal entry. And it will keep reminding you of how you struggled that day or week and how you laugh about it now.

  9.   DitzyDancer113on 14 Dec 2008 at 3:08 pm

Write about a time where you were terrified. Like, the scariest moment of your life.

I can be kind of paranoid, so I get scared easily. Once I was home alone, and my dogs are inside the house with me. Well I had just had a conversation with my friend about the Blair Witch Project, so I was kinda freaked. My dogs started to bark. And growl. And not like the cute puppy bark like, “Oh! Another dog is in the yard!” More like the, “Woah. Something’s up.” And also, my dogs NEVER growl. They were standing in front of my mom’s room, which was pitch black. This went on for about an hour, and I kept hearing weird noises. Eventually, my neighbor came over and stayed with me until my mom came home. The weird part is, there was nothing inside my mom’s room.

One great journal entry is your favorite vacation. I had a fun trip to Alaska and I could easily write a page about the trip. From the glaciers to the odd birthday celebration it was a really easy journal to write.

  11.   Mrs. McGovernon 14 Dec 2008 at 5:03 pm

These are great ideas! I’m impressed with all of the comments! Keep up the fantastic work!

  12.   hockeychic(:on 14 Dec 2008 at 5:35 pm

For a journal entry, you could write about a time when you had a case of de ja vu. I always seem to have episodes of that; I’ll go to a place that I’ve never been before & have the feeling that I’ve been there! It’d make for an interesting journal entry(:

  13.   bam bam bigelo17on 14 Dec 2008 at 5:51 pm

A great journal idea could be on what u did the past weekend, the main highlight!

  14.   julesrules2013on 15 Dec 2008 at 3:59 pm

You could write a poem about your emotions, feelings, your life, and the best part about poems… they don’t even have to rhyme! You could do freestyle, tanka, diamonte, haiku… really! there’s so many different types of poems that you could write!

  15.   Mr.Man69on 15 Dec 2008 at 4:02 pm

well when ever i get stuck i either describe something im watching in real life. Or i make a seriously detailed description of a tv show, like Family Guy, or Sponge Bob, i always do that ’70’s show.

  16.   spartan94on 15 Dec 2008 at 5:26 pm

a good idea for a journal entry could be where do u see your self in 10 years.what job you could have, what your life would be like.

  17.   kitty12508on 15 Dec 2008 at 5:44 pm

My suggestion for a journal entry is to write about the one place in the world that you would like to visit and a place that you have already been to that you would like to visit again.

The one place that I would like to visit in the world is Italy. Being part Italian and seing pictures from magizines with other resourses. I just have a couriosity to know what it is really like. From what i’ve seen it seems to be an amazing place to be and extremely beatiful. The one place that I would like to visit again would no doubt be Flordia. Flordia is extremely beautiful and relaxing. There is only a few problems with Flordia, those are thatit rains off and on! Umbrella out umbrella go back away, and comes out again! Also that there happens to be a decent amount of hurricanes, there was actually one that occured when I was there….Charlie I think! Though I’m not sure if I will ever be able to visit them, I hopeI will!

  18.   gruntthegoalyon 15 Dec 2008 at 5:54 pm

When I write my journals, I try to relate them to current events. Like holidays! Nothing is better than a good ol’ holiday story. Embarassing and funny ones are best! If you have a family like mine… then that idea will keep you going for weeks!

  19.   Big Poppa Pump 09on 16 Dec 2008 at 4:56 pm

If you get stuck then you could write about a main event that happened on the weekend or week.

  20.   darkknight1596on 16 Dec 2008 at 5:21 pm

You could write about a movie you just saw

  21.   RowanDarkBloodon 16 Dec 2008 at 5:49 pm

you could write about a time you got so angry you could have ripped someones head off

  22.   boboon 16 Dec 2008 at 8:27 pm

One thing you could write about is your favorites of different things; color, food, sports team, etc. and explain why for each one.

  23.   lovedabeach167on 16 Dec 2008 at 8:42 pm

i usually right about my weekend or a fun event that you did
right about your birthday of christmas
write about how your day was
    ur friends
    party you went to
    thanksgiving
    ur brothers and or sisters
    summer
    cool presents you got
show you saw that was cool/funny

  24.   Singer4Lyfe!on 17 Dec 2008 at 4:48 pm

If ever you have no clue what to write about you could always talk about an accomplishment you have achieved in your lifetime. For instance say when you were 7 you were in a pageant. Write about how you felt and if you would ever do it again.

welll hmmmm…… if youre having trouble deciding what to write in journals just like write about sports you like to play and why you like to play them. Or your favorite sports teams.

  26.   tokyo3popon 18 Dec 2008 at 7:42 am

You can write about what you’re going to do for the holidays, or write about a country you’d like to go to one day and why.

  27.   Ai No Senshion 18 Dec 2008 at 2:13 pm

I think a good idea for journal entries would be to just make up a story. Not one your working on, but just for fun.

  28.   onlyyourheartsdesireon 18 Dec 2008 at 3:29 pm

you can write about your favorite past time with your best friend(s). or an inside joke that you and your friends share.

  29.   Joker 32on 18 Dec 2008 at 5:07 pm

If you are stuck and need to write a journal entry you could write about a cool activity you did during the week or weekend. For example, if you saw a movie, good TV show or played in any type of sporting event, that could be a good journal entry. You could tell about your day at school or at home or about something funny that happened to you.

  30.   *GuitarHeroGeek 820*on 18 Dec 2008 at 5:12 pm

If your having trouble with your journals think about something that you’ve done in the past like a awesome memory that you have always wanted to tell somebody about. Like for instance, when I was little and we used to go down to our condo in North Carolina I found an old mop in the closet and started chasing my parents around with it. I was only 2 or 3 so I barely had any brain!!!

  31.   laxcrazyon 18 Dec 2008 at 5:15 pm

You could write about your favorite band. You could write about there songs and why you like their music. :]

  32.   13emArldamerIca22on 18 Dec 2008 at 5:23 pm

if you can think of any thing to right then make up a short story on a hero or right about your day.

  33.   DMBfan45on 18 Dec 2008 at 5:24 pm

here’s an idea: you could write about a time you did something on accident and hurt somebody (physically or emotionally) and felt bad about it, but couldn’t fix your mess.

  34.   iQueenofheartson 18 Dec 2008 at 6:41 pm

    Ok.
I have a couple ideas that you could write about.

1.)You could write about a game that was so cool and you just couldn’t stop playing it!

2.)You could write about a time where you got in trouble for something so little.

3.)You could write about a time where you help someone. It could be where a person droped their books, or you helped serve food for a homeless shelter.

4.)You could write about a time where you entered a contest or a competition.

That’ all of the idea’s I have right now. They helped me. I hope they help you!

  35.   elmo!on 18 Dec 2008 at 6:50 pm

if you’re having issues, just write about a funny memory that sticks out in your mind. [:

  36.   Lucksyon 18 Dec 2008 at 7:19 pm

When I’m having trouble about what to write about I think about what events are coming up what events Iv’e done.

Another thing I like to write about is what I like to do and what I do in my spare time or I write about what I would like to do in the future and my goals and accomplishments.

I’m usually bored when I write in my journal. lol I usually don’t know what to say when I write in my journal! But, you could easily just write about some stuff that made you laugh. For example, in spanish class Jada laughed so hard she snorted lol. Then, I started cracking up. So, yea you can do that!(:

  39.   JoJoon 18 Dec 2008 at 11:28 pm

If your having touble finding a topic for your journal, try writing a fake article for the newpaper. Mix it up, like a mad lib, and see what you come up with.

Sometimes when I try to think about writing my journal I try to think about things I like and don’t like. Like nascar which is boring and video games. If theres something you like just write a journal about it when you can’t think of anything
